Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 4, 2026  ·  Operator: Dryfter Bloom, LLC  ·  Contact: support@dryfterbloom.com

Safu is a workspace discovery app that helps you find cafes, coworking spaces, and accommodations that work for you. This policy explains what information Safu collects, how it is used, and who it may be shared with.

We have written this to be readable, not just thorough. If something is unclear, email us at support@dryfterbloom.com.

1. Information Safu collects

Account information

To use Safu, you sign in with Google or Apple.

If you sign in with Google, Safu receives your email address, display name, and profile image from Google. These are stored in your Safu account.

If you sign in with Apple, Safu receives an Apple-issued account identifier and, on your first sign-in, your email address and name if you choose to share them. Apple does not provide your email or name on subsequent sign-ins, so Safu uses the Apple identifier to recognize your account going forward.

Your account information is used to authenticate you, manage your account, and display your profile and contribution history.

Location

Safu requests access to your location only while the app is open and only when you use a feature that needs it. Safu does not request background location access. Safu does not continuously track your location.

Nearby search. When you search for workspaces near your current location, your coordinates are sent to Safu's servers to find places nearby. These search coordinates are not stored as a record of where you searched from.

Check-in. When you check in at a workspace, your device's coordinates at that moment are currently stored in Safu's database, linked to your account and the venue. This is used to confirm you were at the location and to record your contribution. Safu does not currently use automatic expiration for check-in records.

Wi-Fi speed test. When you run a speed test at a venue, your coordinates are used by Safu's server to confirm you are close enough to the workspace to submit a valid test. The raw coordinates from a speed test are not stored. Safu stores the performance results (download speed, upload speed, latency) and whether you were on-site at the time. If you are signed in, this record is associated with your account.

Saved workspaces

When you save a workspace, Safu stores the saved place and any list information in your account on Safu's servers.

Contributions

Safu is built on community knowledge. When you contribute:

Ratings. If you rate a workspace, your rating and any optional written comment are stored in Safu's database, linked to your account and the venue. Ratings do not include your location.

Check-ins. See the Location section above.

Wi-Fi speed tests. See the Location section above.

Report Issue. If you submit an issue report about a venue — for example, that the hours listed are wrong — the report does not include your name, email, or Safu account ID. Issue reports are anonymous. Safu stores the venue name, the type of issue, and any note you provide, along with the venue's recorded location.

2. Wi-Fi information in Safu

Wi-Fi information displayed in Safu — including speed estimates, availability status, and verified security details — comes from Safu's database and from user-contributed speed tests.

Safu does not scan Wi-Fi networks. Safu does not read network names (SSIDs), network hardware identifiers (BSSIDs), or any information about the network you are connected to. Safu does not monitor or inspect your network traffic.

The Wi-Fi speed test measures performance by connecting your device to Cloudflare's speed-test servers (speed.cloudflare.com). This measures how fast data can move — it does not scan the network, read credentials, or inspect security settings.

3. How Safu uses your information

Safu uses the information it collects to:

  • Authenticate your account and maintain your session
  • Find workspaces relevant to your location or city
  • Display venue information, ratings, and Safu Scores
  • Record and display your contributions (ratings, check-ins, speed tests)
  • Award contribution points and track your Safu activity
  • Deliver issue-report notifications to the Safu team
  • Operate and improve the Safu product

4. Service providers

Safu uses third-party services to operate. These providers may receive information as part of their function:

Google — powers Sign in with Google and provides mapping and places data used in Safu's search.

Apple — powers Sign in with Apple. Apple also provides standard iOS and TestFlight platform services that may independently collect diagnostic or usage data under Apple's own policies.

Supabase — provides the database infrastructure where Safu's application data is stored.

Vercel — hosts and operates Safu's backend application. All requests from the Safu app pass through Vercel's infrastructure.

Cloudflare — your device connects directly to Cloudflare's servers when running a Wi-Fi speed test. Cloudflare does not receive your Safu account identity from Safu.

Resend — delivers email notifications when an issue report is submitted. Issue-report emails do not include the reporting user's identity.

Upstash — provides rate-limiting and caching infrastructure for Safu's backend.

Sentry — may be used for backend and web error monitoring where enabled. Sentry is not integrated into the Safu mobile application. Where active, Sentry captures server-side error information to help Safu identify technical problems. Safu's Sentry configuration does not attach user identity or authentication credentials to error reports, and common sensitive header values are scrubbed before transmission.

These providers process information only as needed to provide their respective services. Safu does not sell your personal information.

5. Analytics and diagnostics

Safu mobile app. The Safu iOS app does not include a third-party product analytics SDK. The app does not send usage events, behavioral analytics, or crash reports to any third-party analytics or monitoring service.

Apple and TestFlight. Apple's iOS platform and TestFlight may independently collect standard diagnostic and usage information from all apps installed on your device, including Safu. This is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

Safu web and backend. Safu's web-facing backend may use operational monitoring tools, including error tracking and performance measurement, to maintain reliability.

6. Data retention

Safu retains account and contribution information while it is needed to operate the product and maintain the integrity of community data. Safu's current Alpha does not yet use fixed automatic deletion periods for most account and contribution records.

Individual saves and favorites can be removed by the user at any time within the app.

7. Your rights and requests

You may contact Safu at support@dryfterbloom.com to:

  • Request access to personal information Safu holds about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your personal information

We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. We will respond as promptly as we are able.

There is not currently an automated in-app account deletion tool. Deletion requests are handled manually by the Safu team.

8. Children

Safu is not designed for or directed at children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through Safu, please contact us at support@dryfterbloom.com.

9. Security

Safu uses reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information it holds. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and Safu cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Changes to this policy

When Safu makes material changes to this policy, the effective date will be updated. Continued use of Safu after a policy update means you accept the revised terms.
